Donation Committee: The donation committee recommended a donation of $500 to the “Because I Said I Would” project. Pat moved ,and Joe H. seconded that we make the donation. Motion carried.

Speaker Committee: We are currently booked through the end of the year.

Service Projects:

  • There is a group volunteering at the Cleveland Food Bank on October 24th.
  • We will also have a table set up at the library for the Purple Pinkie Donut project to highlight Rotary’s involvement in eradicating polio.
  • Plans are underway for this year’s Epiphany Project. We will need volunteers for organization on 12-29 and packing on 12-30. The distribution will take place at Holy Redeemer on January 7th. Jeff has arranged vans from Youth Challenge, and we have agreed to clean the vans as a service project next spring.

Membership Committee: We are having a hot breakfast meeting on December 3rd. All members are asked to think about who they can invite as a prospective member.

Old Business:

  • The golf outing was held on October 10th at Mallard Creek. The weather was perfect, and a great time was had by all. Thanks to all who participated, and thanks to all our sponsors. We should realize a profit of about $5500.
  • This month is a fifth Wednesday month, so we will be collecting diapers for Providence House.
  • Our Rose sale was held on October 17th. The sale was not as successful as in previous years, but we will still realize around $500.

New Business:

  • Andrew shared a presentation on the proposed cluster project to purchase a new Toyota Hilux truck for the Omni group in Africa, which we have supported in the past. The Cluster has requested each club donate between $5000-$7000 towards this project. It is doubtful that we will be willing to participate at the amount. More discussion will be held in the future months.
  • The Districts Rotary Foundation Gala will be held November 13 th at La Vera Party Center, 32200 Chardon Rd., Willoughby Hills at 6:00 pm. The theme is “Celebrate the Magic of Uniting for Good”. The event will begin with a Happy Hour followed by the Awards Celebration, and wrap up with the World Famous Dessert Dash. We are also asking the members support the District project by purchasing warm hats, gloves, mittens, socks and scarves and bringing them to the Gala.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:33.
