The meeting was called to order by President Andrew Mangels. The invocation, pledge of allegiance, and four-way test were recited.

Club news:
  • Over 90 Westlake Community Center’s celebration is scheduled for May 21st at 11 AM. A sign-up list will be created for the event.
  • April has five Wednesdays and, therefore, will be a diaper-dropped month. Please bring your diapers to the library or let us know if you prefer to provide funds. Jeff Appel has committed to taking the diapers down to Providence House on the day.
  • We will be doing the basket program for the Interact Club during the district conference at the end of the month. There will be a basket-filling event at the library on April 23rd at 6:00 PM. Lisa and Amy are organizing the materials for the basket filming project. A sign-up list will be on the Club Runner website.
  • Art Festival, Patti Zinn asked members to see if they can ask businesses in the community for more sponsorships.
  • There is an Art Festival Meeting Wednesday, May 7 th, prior to our weekly meeting.
  • Joann Depolo Is our featured artist for this year's Art Festival. 
  • The bowling extravaganza at the Elks Lodge has been scheduled for April 15th, which is also the Thai New Year. Andrew has secured the bowling alley, and a sign-up sheet is available on Club Runner.
  • Lisa mentioned an event at Lake View Cemetery for placing flags on veterans’ graves. She will send out an e-mail about the event.
  • There is a top golf event on May 22nd. If anyone is interested, see Andrew.
SPEAKER – Bob Patton – Career-Based Intervention Programs at Westlake High School.

Bob’s presentation was fabulous, explaining how Westlake High School Students Intern in various jobs and prepare for their futures. Each student participates 125 hours – average 5-7 hours per week in their chosen profession. There were 7 Senior Students from high School. 
 
There was time for happy bucks.
