The meeting was called to order by President Andrew Mangels. The invocation, pledge of allegiance, and four-way test were recited.
 
 
Club news:
 
  • Reviewed upcoming events, including Over 90 Westlake Community Center’s celebrations are scheduled for May 21st.
  • Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at Lake Erie Nature and Science Center will be Tuesday, June 3 at 3 PM.
  • April has five Wednesdays and, therefore, will be a diaper-dropped month.
  • Installation Dinner for our incoming President, the Honorable Amy Kubacki will be Monday June 16, at Arrabiata’s Italian Restaurant, See Rachel Maver for Attendance.
  • The Art Fest meeting will take place before our Wednesday meeting, May 7th at 7 AM. Patti Zinn has reported that $12,250. To date has been committed for corporate donations for the Art Festival.
  • Saturday May 3 rd is a Toastmasters Conference, see Andrew Mangels for details. 
  • There is a top golf event on May 22nd. If anyone is interested, see Andrew. 
  • Special Thanks to Lisa Hebert for doing well with helping with our Club’s advertising and social media. Things look great!
  • Rachel and Bob Maver are reviewing the High School students Scholarship applications.
  • We have 2 new club members, Tianyi and Debra Dorow, have been approved and will be installed into the club.
 
 
SPEAKER: Drones over Ukraine
 
Stacie Pettyjohn is a Senior Fellow and Director of the Defense Program at CNAS. Her areas of expertise include defense strategy, posture, force planning, the defense budget, and wargaming. Prior to joining CNAS, Pettyjohn spent over 10 years at. the RAND Corporation as a political scientist. SHE WAS WONDERFUL. SHARED A LOT OF INTERESTING INFORMATION.
