The May Board meeting of the Westlake-Bay Village Rotary Club was held on May 28, 2025. The meeting was called to order by President Andrew Mangels at 7:30, and began with the invocation, the Pledge of Allegiance, and the Four Way Test.
In Attendance: President Andrew Mangels, Terri Speck, Pat Graham, Jim Strunk, Joe Hudak, Joe Kraft, Jeff Appel, Amy Kubacki, Bob Maver, and Patty Zinn. A quorum was present. Also in attendance were Lisa Hebert, Tim Opsitnick, Rachel Maver, Wayne Nieman, and Tianyi Krupka. We also welcomed past District Governor Paul Scott, who visited our club.
Treasurer’s Report: Jim gave an extensive report on the Corley Foundation. The balance in the endowment fund as of April 30th is $346,151.
There was much discussion regarding the guidelines as to how much we budget for donations from the fund. Andrew will rewrite the guidelines to reflect that we have averaged 7% in donations, rather than we must donate 7%.
New Business: Amy moved, and Bob seconded that we approve Jeff Appel as our new President-Elect. Thank you to Jeff for stepping up.
Club News:
Members of our club volunteered to place flags at Lakeview Cemetery for Memorial Day Weekend. Thanks to Lisa Hebert and her sister Leslie, Terri and Dave Speck, Tianyi and Jim Krupka, and Patty Zinn.
