The August Board meeting of the Westlake-Bay Village Rotary Club was held on August 20, 2025. The meeting was called to order by President Amy Kubacki at 7:30, and began with the invocation, the Pledge of Allegiance, and the Four Way Test.
In Attendance: President Amy Kubacki, Pat Graham, Jim Strunk, Joe Hudak, Joe Kraft, Jeff Appel, John Hanna, Lisa Hebert, and Andrew Mangels. A quorum was present. Also in attendance were Rachel Maver, Bob Maver, Ray Glinka, Kevin Krantz, Deb Dorow, Katie Yeager, Terri Speck, Tianyi Krupka, and Steve Pettyjohn.
Treasurer’s Report: No report
Donation Committee: There were no new requests made for the committee to consider.
Speaker Committee: We are currently booked into December.
Service Projects: Rachel Maver is looking for volunteers for our service project to be held at the Cleveland Food Bank on October 24th. Signups can be made online. Look for the link in your email.
Membership Committee: We need a new chairperson for the membership committee to replace our President, who did an admirable job the last two years.
Old Business:
- Plans are underway for our Golf Outing-Clam Bake to be held October 3 rd at Mallard Creek. Golfers are $135 or $540 for a foursome. Dinner only is $45. We need volunteers to work on the day of the event and need everyone to solicit hole sponsors.
- The Rose sale will take place October 17 th .
- Joe Kraft is heading up a team for the Walk to End Alzheimer's on October 4th. Walkers are asked to sign up. Please consider sponsoring this effort with your financial contributions.
New Business:
- Plans are already underway for the 2026 Art Festival. We are in need of new blood to head up various committees. Contact Joe K. or Andrew for more information. The suggestion was made that we devote a meeting every other month to Art Festival planning.
Club News:
- John Hanna was presented with his badge as our new Sergeant-at-Arms. There is a new sheriff in town, so be on your best Rotary Behavior.
- The By-laws committee is being re-convened to once again review our current by-laws. The committee consists of Rachel, Joe H., Bob Maver, and Kevin Krantz. They will contact Patty to see if she is interested in being on the committee.
