Today's speaker was Nikita Stange, head of Community Engagement and Recruitment for CASA, Court appointed special advocate. CASA volunteers serve as the voice for the child, ensure that the best interest of the child is being served, and collaborates with key agencies and significant individuals to help children maintain safe and permanent homes. CASA volunteers frequently become the most consistent adult presence in the child’s life, due to the demanding case loads of the other court professionals. We had time for our happy thoughts and the meeting adjourned at 8:30.
